Today we celebrate two great apostles. Their lives reflect the power of faith and God’s grace. In the first reading, we see Peter’s miraculous escape from prison, a testament to God’s protection and purpose for him. Despite persecution, Peter’s faith remained strong, and he became a rock for the Church. God’s plans cannot be thwarted, even in the darkest moments. Peter’s deliverance from prison symbolizes the freedom we receive through faith in Christ. In the second reading, Paul speaks of his life as a race he has run well, ready to receive the crown of righteousness. Paul’s journey, marked by suffering and perseverance, culminates in his trust in God’s justice and salvation. His commitment to spreading the Gospel challenges us to live with purpose and to pour ourselves out in service to Christ. In the Gospel reading, Peter’s confession of faith is a reminder that our identity and mission are rooted in Christ. Let us have faith, and trust in God’s guidance, even amidst trials.
PRAYER: Abba Father, deepen our faith in your saving grace. Amen.
