In the first reading, we witness the deep joy of St. Paul as he observes the faith and steadfastness of the Thessalonian community. Despite the trials, hardships, and challenges they encountered, they remained unwavering in their commitment to the Lord and his people. Their resilience was not based on their strength but on their trust in God, who renewed their hearts with love and perseverance. Instead of giving in to discouragement, they continued to live holy and blameless lives. This is the same calling Jesus places upon us. He warns us against hypocrisy and urges us to be faithful at all times. We must not waste time on things that do not bring us closer to him. Instead, we should cultivate a greater thirst to serve in love and righteousness. Our actions and words should reflect the Gospel, becoming a source of “good news” for those around us. Wherever we are placed, let us be instruments of his kingdom, bringing light, love, and hope to the world.
PRAYER: Abba Father, strengthen us in love to remain faithful to you and to carry out our mission. Amen.
