Today’s Gospel speaks about the parable of the Sower. Jesus often spoke in parables so that many would be able to understand the Kingdom of God. In this parable we see how the seed of the word is sown. In our lives too we receive the seed of the word of God, but what happens with the word that is sown in our hearts? Sometimes life gets so busy that the word that was sown gets forgotten before the end of the day. At times it brings a change in us but that gets destroyed when we start focusing on the negativity around us. Yet there are times that the word stirs up hope and a change within us but we allow doubt to creep in and steal it away. The difference is the condition of the soil which is our hearts. To condition our hearts, we must approach the word with a willingness to learn, a willingness to change and a heart of surrender. This becomes the soil that helps the word to grow and yield good fruits. Let us allow the Word to transform our lives.
PRAYER: Abba Father, create in me a clean heart and renew the spirit within me. Amen.
