St. Ignatius was condemned and killed for being a Christian. In his writings, he says that a Christian needs to prove himself to be called one. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Death is not the end. It is only the beginning of our beautiful life with Christ. Abraham’s faith was accredited to him as righteousness. What matters most is not works, but what one believes in. David’s sincere remorse and repentance won mercy and forgiveness. His love for God was never shaken. God was faithful to him to the end. Jesus warns us of the hypocrisy of the pharisees. He says “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 7:21). Honesty and integrity are paramount. The truth must prevail. Let us beware of losing our soul. Nothing can be hidden from God. All things will come to light for he knows every little detail, struggle and problem in our lives. In total surrender, let us worship him in spirit and truth.
PRAYER: Abba Father, let your Spirit reign in me. Amen.
