They all ate and were satisfied
  • 1 John 4: 7-10
  • Psalm 72:1-4,7-8
  • Mark 6:34-44

God is love, and since we are created in his image, we too crave genuine and selfless love. But human love cannot satisfy us, for the deepest desire of our innermost being is for the love of God. Saints who were immersed in this love lost all sense of time. They were filled with his love and served the world as lights, directing people to the Lord. Loving is a choice we make, and it calls us to let go of our comfort zones, make difficult sacrifices, and walk the extra mile for those in need. This becomes easier when we are united with the Lord, for life becomes meaningful and fruitful. In the Gospel, we see the apostles, who had witnessed many miracles, still looking for worldly solutions to feed the people. Yet we have the greatest consolation from Jesus, who assures us that no problem is too great for him to solve. The whole universe belongs to Jesus, and all power and authority are with him. Only Jesus can satisfy our physical, mental, and spiritual needs.

PRAYER: Abba Father, as we gaze upon you, may we be filled with your love. Amen.
