Transforming Grace
  • 1 Timothy 1:1-2,12-14
  • Psalm 16:1-2,5,7-8,11
  • Luke 6:39-42

St. Paul’s letter begins with a deep sense of gratitude for the grace and mercy he received. Though he was a sinful man, God transformed him into a faithful disciple. God’s grace is not earned but freely given. God’s mercy will follow us no matter how unworthy we may feel. We need to extend grace and forgiveness to others and serve others in love, recognizing that God can use anyone for his purpose. Let us take a moment to reflect on God’s grace in our lives. What areas of our past have been transformed? Let St. Paul’s gratitude inspire us to thank God for the ways he has worked in and through us, even when we felt undeserving. God does not call the qualified – he qualifies the called. In the Gospel reading Jesus reminds us that humility and self-awareness are essential for spiritual growth. How easy it is to notice the faults of others while ignoring our flaws. Let us live in gratitude, recognising our faults, avoiding judgment, and depending on God’s mercy and grace.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may we live in humility and gratitude by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
