God’s presence is what brings us true joy, not the outward appearance of things. When our efforts feel small or inadequate, God reassures us that he is at work, often in ways beyond what we can imagine. Our focus should not be on comparing what we build to others’ achievements but on faithfully following God’s leading. He promises peace and glory that transcend human expectations. In the Gospel reading, Jesus reveals the unexpected way he will fulfill his mission and what it means to be the Messiah. His path of suffering and self-sacrifice shows us that God’s ways are different to our understanding. Following Christ involves surrendering our preconceived notions and embracing the call to trust in his redemptive plan, even when it includes hardships. Like Peter, we are invited to proclaim Jesus as the Messiah, allowing his purpose to shape our identity and actions. Jesus encourages us to persevere in faith, trusting that God’s ways lead to peace, glory, and redemption.
PRAYER: Abba Father, help me to trust in your plan, even during challenging times, knowing that your path leads to life and victory. Amen.
