Unity in love
  • Acts 22:30; 23:6-11
  • Psalm 16:1- 2, 5,7-11
  • John 17:20-26

When we live in the unity that Jesus intends for us, we know God’s love, we have fellowship with him, and we experience the power of his name. Jesus wanted us to communicate this unity to the world. The intimate loving relationship he enjoyed with the Father is possible for us too. When we are united, the presence of Jesus will be found in us. This is our mission: to spread this love, to share this truth which is the real message of the Gospel. The only way to achieve this is to look at Jesus and follow his way. ‘He is the way, the truth and the life.’ St Paul experienced Jesus’ love on the way to Damascus. He was blinded until he saw the truth. He was filled with the Lord’s wisdom, when he used a strategy to outwit the Sanhedrin. When we are united with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit will guide us. St Boniface, whose memorial we celebrate today, did tremendous missionary work in the Dark Ages spreading the Gospel message in many parts of Europe.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may we be united in your love. Amen.
