Intimacy with God
  • Wisdom 18: 6-9
  • Psalm 33: 1, 12, 18-22
  • Hebrews 11: 1-2, 8-19
  • Luke 12: 32-48

We are called to be ambassadors of God’s Kingdom: by spreading the love of God. Our lives should be built on love, surrounded with walls of hope, and shielded with faith. In today’s first reading we see God’s mighty works. The intimacy between God and Moses was strong. Moses was instructed and everyone else hoped for the best and acted in faith; thus they were delivered from slavery. We are called to have an intimate relationship with God. The purpose/mission given to us is the result of that intimacy, because if we do not know God we would not love him, nor hope nor trust in him. The Gospel reading tells us to be vigilant, never to slumber, and fulfill the mission given to us. Jesus has made a clear distinction between those who are aware of the job that the Master has given them and those who are ignorant of the job. Therefore, we as baptized people, should not get distracted but rather carry out our mission with open hearts and in intimacy with God.

PRAYER: Abba Father, let your love make me to be and do what you require from me. Help me to love you. Amen.
