The Urgency of Responding to God
  • Romans 8:26-30
  • Psalm 13:4-6
  • Luke 13:22-30

St. Paul reassures us that even in our weakness, the Spirit intercedes for us. When we do not know how to pray, the Spirit prays on our behalf with groanings too deep for words. God searches our hearts and works all things for good for those who love him. We are not alone. God is actively at work, guiding us according to his purpose, shaping us into the image of his Son. Our journey of faith is supported by divine grace from beginning to end. In the Gospel reading, Jesus speaks about the narrow door and the urgency of entering God’s kingdom. Many will seek to enter but find the door closed because they waited too long or misunderstood what it meant to truly follow him. It’s a sobering reminder that familiarity with Jesus is not the same as genuine discipleship. There is urgency in responding to God’s invitation. Grace sustains us as we heed the call to live by faith. God helps us, but he also calls us to respond now, not later.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may we be ready to respond to you, walking in your grace and truth. Amen.
