Whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me
  • Leviticus 19:1-2, 11-18
  • Psalm 19:8-10,15
  • Matthew 25:31-46

The readings invite us to reflect on holiness as both a personal calling and a lived reality in our relationships. In Leviticus, God commands his people to be holy, not through grand gestures, but through everyday integrity: honesty in business, fairness to others, and love for neighbor. Holiness is expressed in concrete actions, in the care we show to those around us, and in the restraint of selfish impulses. The call to “love your neighbor as yourself” captures the heart of God’s law: true devotion manifests in how we treat others. In the Gospel reading, Jesus reveals the ultimate measure of holiness: care for the least and the vulnerable. Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the imprisoned: these acts are not optional; they are the tangible signs of God’s kingdom. The righteous are recognized not by status or religious observance, but by merciful action that mirrors God’s own love. Our faith is authentic when it transforms both our hearts and the world around us.

Abba Father, let the words of my mouth and the thought of my heart find favor before you. Amen.
