The Lord assures us that conversion is always possible. God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked; rather, he delights when a sinner turns back and lives. God’s justice is dynamic, not static. We are not trapped by past failures, nor guaranteed by past virtues. Each moment becomes a fresh opportunity to choose life, mercy, and fidelity. God’s heart is ever ready to forgive, provided we return to him with sincerity. In the Gospel Jesus deepens this call to conversion. He teaches that righteousness must surpass mere external observance. It is not enough to avoid murder; we must also root out anger, resentment, and contempt. Jesus shows that reconciliation is at the center of discipleship. Before approaching the altar, we are to seek peace with our brothers and sisters. Love of God demands love of neighbor. God invites us to ongoing transformation, where every thought, word, and action reflects his mercy. May our hearts mirror Christ’s own.
Abba Father, let your ears be attentive to my voice in supplication. Amen.
