The Lord dwells among us
  • Isaiah 4:2-6
  • Psalm 122:1-9
  • Matthew 8:5-11

Isaiah’s vision points to Jesus, the promised Messiah, who restores what sin has destroyed and brings healing and holiness to God’s people. The imagery of cleansing, protection, and the presence of God’s glory as a canopy over his people reveals God’s desire to dwell among us and shield us from harm. It is an image of renewal, purity, and divine companionship. In the Gospel reading, we see the Roman centurion whose faith astonishes Jesus. Despite being an outsider to the covenant, he recognizes Jesus’ authority and believes that just a word from him is enough to heal his servant. His humility and trust embody the faith that grants access to the kingdom of God. Through him, we are reminded that faith transcends boundaries of race, status, or background. It is the humble heart that moves God. Let us pray to have deeper faith: to trust in the power of Christ’s word and to allow his glory to dwell within and around us, cleansing, and renewing our lives.

PRAYER: Abba Father, increase my faith and dwell within me. Amen.
