Naaman’s healing reveals that God’s power is not limited by human rank or expectations. Though Naaman was a great and respected commander, his leprosy showed that no one is beyond need. When God’s instruction came through a simple prophet in an ordinary way, Naaman struggled with pride and disappointment. Yet healing came the moment he chose humility and obedience. God often works through simple acts of faith, asking us to trust rather than impress. When we follow God’s word, transformation happens: in our bodies, our circumstances, and our hearts. Healing helps us recognise the Lord and to live a transformed life by his grace. The people of Nazareth knew Jesus as one of their own and therefore struggled to accept that God could act through him. God’s grace flows where there is faith and openness. Do we resist God’s voice when it comes from a familiar person? God may work in unexpected ways. Let us allow God to move freely in our lives.
Abba Father, soften our hearts to hear your truth and open us to your grace that we may trust you and follow you faithfully. Amen.
