God of Justice and Truth
  • 2 Corinthians 11:1-11
  • Psalm 111:1-4,7-8
  • Matthew 6:7-15

The psalmist proclaims, “Your works, O Lord, are justice and truth”. We have received the spirit of adoption and so we can cry out “Abba Father”. What benevolence has been showered on us to be made divine heirs and to be ad-opted by God whose works are the foundation of justice and truth. We are a chosen race belonging to a loving God. But are my works a reflection of these attributes of sonship? Forgiveness is not optional for us who call God, Abba Father! When we forgive we will be forgiven. Obedience is better than sacrifice but at times we may ask, why we must forgive before receiving our daily bread. The Lord wants us to receive his Body worthily. Hence, we are invited to forgive and receive forgiveness before approaching the Altar. On the cross, Jesus, an innocent victim of abuse and torture, chose to forgive his executioners, to restore all humanity back to the heart of his loving Father. It is all about love finally.

PRAYER: Abba Father, forgive me for failing to walk the path of justice and truth. Amen.
