In the story of Susanna, we see the dangers of false accusations and the courage of those who stand for truth. Despite being threatened and shamed, Susanna trusted in God, and her innocence was revealed. God’s justice prevails when we act with integrity and rely on him, even in situations where we feel powerless. In the Gospel, the Lord Jesus shows mercy to the woman caught in adultery. The crowd wants condemnation, but Jesus responds with compassion: “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.” He invites us to reflect on our faults, offer forgiveness, and act with love rather than judgment. This challenges us to speak truth with humility, avoid gossip or judgment, stand up for those who are vulnerable, and extend mercy where it is needed. When we trust in the Lord our God, act with integrity, and show compassion, we reflect his justice and love in a world that often seeks punishment over grace.
Abba Father, may I be compassionate and loving. Amen.
