In the Book of Wisdom, the character of the righteous is clearly defined, and the destiny of the righteous is also revealed. Jesus came to transform us into sons and daughters of God. The way of life Christ teaches us is different from the ways of the world. Because of this, there is always conflict when God’s children try to walk his path while living in the world. Just as the world hated Christ and persecuted his followers, the pattern continues even today. We too may face rejection, misunderstanding, and shame for choosing to live according to the Gospel. Yet this should not discourage us, as it reminds us that we belong to God and not to the world. Each day, we are invited to surrender our hearts to him anew and allow ourselves to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit who strengthens us to remain faithful, to endure trials, and to witness courageously to Christ in both word and action. God is always faithful to those who place their hope in him.
