The Lord speaks of his servant, called and equipped from the womb to bring light and hope to the nations. God has a purpose for each of us, even when we feel small or inadequate. The servant’s mission is not for personal glory, but to serve, heal, and restore. In the Gospel reading, we witness the Lord Jesus’ heartbreak at Judas’ betrayal and Peter’s denial. Even in moments of human weakness, the Lord Jesus shows love. He prepares his disciples for the trials to come, showing that the divine mission continues despite failure or fear. Let us examine our lives: where are we called to serve faithfully, even when it is hard? How can we act with integrity when faced with fear, temptation, or betrayal? Daily steps include offering acts of kindness, speaking truth with love, and trusting God’s plan for our lives. When we align our hearts with the Lord Jesus, we bring light to others and strengthen our own faith, even in challenging times.
Abba Father, help us to trust in your mercy. Amen.
