Faith enables us to do God’s will
  • Wisdom 1:1-7
  • Psalm 139: 1-10
  • Luke 17:1-6

Jesus warns us of the great responsibility we carry as his disciples; we must not set stumbling blocks for others. We are not to give offense or bad example that might lead another to sin. Those who are young are specially vulnerable to bad examples. When we encounter those who hurt us we are to forgive them regardless of how many times they have sinned against us. This seems like an impossible challenge given by the Lord! We cannot fulfil these instructions by our strength, they stretch us beyond our capacity to obey. This is the same dilemma that faced the disciples as they cried out “Increase our faith!”. Faith is a gift freely given by God. God reveals himself to those who have faith enabling them to understand his truth, and to live in the power of his love. Faith in God is the key to removing obstacles that keep us from doing his will. We are his children and he is always ready to work through us and in us for his greater glory.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may I be obedient to your will. Amen.
