I will bless the Lord at all times
  • Acts 5:17-26
  • Psalm 34:2-9
  • John 3:16-21

Fear and love are powerful forces, but today’s readings show us that only one sets us free. In the Acts of the Apostles, the authorities try to silence the apostles by imprisoning them. Yet God intervenes, opening the prison doors and sending them back to the Temple to proclaim “the words of life.” Locked cells, threats, and fear cannot contain a mission rooted in God’s will. In the Gospel, Jesus reveals the heart of that mission: “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” Jesus did not come to condemn, but to save. However, this gift of love calls for a decision. Light has entered the world, and we must choose whether to step into it or remain in darkness. Often, darkness feels safer because it conceals our failures and wounds, but it also keeps us bound. Let us examine our response to God’s love. When we choose the light, fear loosens its hold and true freedom begins. Like the apostles, we are sent to live and proclaim this saving love with courage and trust.

Abba Father, your praise shall be ever in my mouth. Amen.
