Today’s readings take us from promise to praise, to power, and to purpose. There is a mixture of wonder and uncertainty when God moves in ways we do not understand, yet the message is clear: do not remain staring at the sky. Trust that his departure is not abandonment. The Ascension is not absence, but transition. What feels like loss may actually be a commissioning. The psalmist reminds us that the one who ascends “reigns over the nations.” When the world feels unstable, let this truth steady us. Our lives are not ruled by chaos, but by a sovereign and victorious God. Let us pray that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened, so that we may grasp the hope we have been given. The same power that raised Christ lives in us; this reality should both humble and strengthen us. In the Gospel, we hear Jesus’ promise: “I am with you always.” We are not sent alone: we are loved, empowered, and accompanied. This assurance gives us the courage to follow him faithfully.
PRAYER: Abba Father, align my heart to hear you say, I am with you always, every day. Amen.
