I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord
  • Acts 5:34-42
  • Psalm 27:1,4,13-14
  • John 6:1-15

Often, in dire straits at work, I tend to get caught up in a mesh. The enormity of the tasks ahead of me cause me to fixate on engineering solutions from the limited perspective I possess. Things appear impossible and frustrating when there is no headway at my pace. It is then that the promise in Psalm 27:13-14 reassures us that goodness is possible for those who wait on the Lord. Today’s Gospel reiterates this promise. Jesus is the Lord of creative solutions. Our loving God is not limited by space and time when performing creative miracles. So what does it take to realise such a miracle? We tap into his promises by believing, and we reinforce this belief by proclaiming his promise: “I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Let us try taking a step back from the driving seat and offer him the little we have: our works and resources. Then, creative solutions will appear. Let us allow him to direct our path.

Abba Father, may I rest in your promise and wait on you for a breakthrough. Amen.
