We witness a beautiful transition: from incomplete understanding to fullness in the Spirit. The disciples in Ephesus had not yet experienced the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. When St. Paul proclaims Jesus and lays hands on them, the Spirit fills them, and their faith becomes alive and active. It is a picture of awakening, with God drawing his people deeper. This awakening reflects the declaration of the psalmist: when God arises, wickedness scatters like smoke, and the righteous rejoice. The same God who went before Israel now moves by his Spirit within his Church. His presence brings both victory and a sense of belonging. The Spirit lifts our gaze from earthly uncertainty to our heavenly identity. In the Gospel, Jesus promises peace amid tribulation, declaring that he has overcome the world. The message is clear: the risen and reigning Christ fills his people, secures their identity, and grants them everlasting peace.
PRAYER: Abba Father, li my gaze from earthly uncertainty to heavenly identity. Amen.
