In the Gospel, Jesus speaks of the coming Advocate, the Spirit of truth, who will testify and strengthen his followers. Yet he also prepares them for opposition. Faithfulness will not always be met with understanding; sometimes it will bring discomfort or exclusion. Still, the Spirit sustains those who remain steadfast in witness.
