The first will be last, and the last will be first
  • 1 Peter 1:10-16
  • Psalm 98:1-4
  • Mark 10:28-31

The life of Saint Philip Neri shows that holiness can be joyful, approachable, and deeply relational. He pursued God through simplicity, laughter, and care for others, inviting all to live in the love of Christ. His joy was a reflection of his deep awareness of God’s presence in daily life, showing that devotion can be lived in community, kindness, and humble service. In the first reading, we are called to live holy lives, set apart by reverence and devotion. Holiness is expressed in daily choices, in love, and in obedience to God’s will. In the Gospel, Jesus promises that those who leave all for the sake of following him will receive more than they can imagine. True discipleship requires detachment: opening the heart to abundant life rooted in God. Even amid challenges, St. Philip Neri lived with a cheerful spirit, attentive to the needs of others, and devoted entirely to God. Let us embrace a faithful, joyful, and selfless way of living.

PRAYER: Abba Father, reveal to us the mysteries of the Kingdom. Amen.
