The Holy Spirit will teach you everything
  • Acts 14:5-18
  • Psalm 115:1-4,15-16
  • John 14:21-26

The mission of the early disciples reveals both the fragility and the power of faith lived in the world. Faced with misunderstanding, rejection, and even danger, they did not cling to comfort or human approval. Instead, they continued to witness with humility, redirecting all praise back to God. Their refusal to accept glory for themselves shows a deep interior freedom: they knew their role was to point beyond themselves. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that love is proven through obedience. To love him is not merely to feel devotion, but to live according to his word. And in this fidelity, we are not left alone: the Holy Spirit is given as our Advocate. We are reminded that it is easy to seek recognition, to want affirmation for what we do. Yet true discipleship calls us to humility: to act, to serve, and then to step aside so that God may be seen more clearly. Let us give generously and serve in ways that no one will notice. Let our actions become quiet offerings, directing all glory to God.

PRAYER: Abba Father, not to us, but to your name give the glory. Amen.
