From skepticism to unwavering belief
  • Ephesians 2: 19-22
  • Psalm 117: 1-2
  • John 20: 24-29

By nature, we were dead in sin and cut off from God. Yet by faith and through God’s grace, we have been saved. Those who were once hostile to God have now been brought into a relationship with him. We are at peace with him and have been reconciled to God through Christ. The responsorial psalm declares, “Praise the Lord.” The question is not if we will praise, but rather what or who we will praise. The world presents many objects and people that demand our praise, but only in worshiping the Lord will we find true joy, peace, hope, and love. Too often, we lose this focus and become distracted. Many things in life will disappoint us. No object or person can be entirely faithful. Only God is completely faithful, and that truth should lead us to praise him! St. Thomas the Apostle, though initially doubting, came to a profound faith in Christ. His journey from skepticism to unwavering belief reminds us that faith is a gift, and when we seek the truth, God will reveal himself to us.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank you for what you have done for us. Amen.
