There was no other prophet greater than Elijah in the Old Testament. He experienced the living God in a profound and personal way and performed mighty miracles that demonstrated God’s power. The anointing of God’s Spirit was clearly upon Elijah, empowering him to carry out God’s work. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches the importance of having an authentic relationship and ongoing journey with the Lord. More than fasting, more than alms given, it is the right attitude, the sincere heart, that places us in the right spiritual place. Therefore, if all our religious observances and practices do not lead us into a deep connection with Christ, they remain empty and meaningless. Let our prayer truly become a time of intimate communion with Jesus, a moment in which we open our hearts fully, seek his guidance, and allow him to lead us into the heart of the Father, experiencing his love, mercy, and presence in every aspect of our lives.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may you be glorified in us. Amen.
