Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed
  • Jeremiah 20:10-13
  • Psalm 69:8-10,14,17,33-35
  • Romans 5:12-15
  • Matthew 10:26-33

Today’s readings show the tension between fear and faith. Jeremiah feels surrounded by hostility and betrayal, yet he does not surrender to despair. Instead, he entrusts his cause to God, proclaiming praise even before deliverance comes. His courage reminds us that faith is the decision to trust God in spite of fear. Saint Paul contrasts the fall of humanity through sin with the superabundant grace that comes through Christ. Where sin brings division and death, grace restores, heals, and gives life. This assurance strengthens us: no darkness we face is greater than God’s redeeming love. In the Gospel, Jesus calls us to fearless witness. “Do not be afraid,” he says, reminding us that we are known and cherished by God. Even the smallest details of our lives are held in his care. It is said that, “Courage in faith is born when we remember that we are never unseen by God.” Let us then stand firm, trusting that God walks with us.
