Let us contemplate on the mystery of the Eucharist, the real presence of Christ among us. In the first reading, Moses reminds Israel how God fed them with manna. This heavenly bread sustained them and taught them that life ultimately comes from God. The manna in the wilderness becomes a foreshadowing of the greater gift God would later give to his people. St Paul, reveals the deeper reality of the Eucharist. The cup of blessing and the bread we break are a real participation in the Body and Blood of Christ. Through Holy Communion, we are united not only with Christ but also with one another, forming one Body in him. In the Eucharist, Christ offers himself completely: Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. St Thomas Aquinas said: “In the sacred banquet Christ is received, the memory of his Passion is renewed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.” Let us renew our love for Christ truly present in”the Blessed Sacrament.
