Today Jesus explains the parable of the sower. The explanation is almost uncomfortable because it leaves little room for excuses. The seed is good. The issue is the soil. Some hearts become hardened through repeated resistance. Some welcome God enthusiastically but without depth. Some are crowded by worries and worldly concerns. Yet Christ also speaks of good soil producing thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold. The encouraging truth is that soil can change. A hardened heart can soften. A distracted heart can focus. A wounded heart can heal. Jeremiah reveals God gathering his people again after wandering. The Lord never abandons the work of cultivation. Spiritual growth rarely happens instantly. Like a gardener, God works patiently beneath the surface before visible fruit appears. Let us not measure faith only by feelings or immediate results. Roots grow unseen. Trust the hidden work of grace. The growth often begins long before it becomes visible.
