All you who are thirsty, come to the water!
  • Isaiah 55:1-3
  • Psalm 145:8-9, 15-18
  • Romans 8:35, 37-39
  • Matthew 14:13-21

Being children of God makes us citizens of a different Kingdom, running on a different set of norms. In our world, one needs money and a place to buy things, even an online shop. Yet we are assured that our Heavenly Father is waiting to meet all our needs: physical, emotional, and spiritual. Jesus manifested this so powerfully. He wasted no time worrying about what he did not have, but had utmost faith in the Father, who satisfied all his desires in accordance with his will. How about us? Let us remember the words of the Lord, repeatedly telling us not to worry or be anxious! Jesus told the disciples, “You give them something to eat” (cf. Matthew 14:16b). Was he hinting at something to his disciples that they did not realise then, and that we are yet to acknowledge and exercise? That we, who host his presence and speak in his Name, who have received the Holy Spirit, have the authority to do everything he did, and even more (cf. John 14:12)?

PRAYER: O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Amen.
