Imagine discovering a treasure buried beneath a field. Everything changes instantly. That is how Jesus describes the Kingdom of God. The man sells everything because he understands the value of what he has found. The merchant does the same for the pearl. The Gospel is not about loss. It is about recognition. People sacrifice gladly when they perceive something greater. Solomon asks not for wealth or power but for wisdom. His request reveals spiritual maturity: he values what truly matters. Many anxieties arise because lesser things occupy the place reserved for ultimate things. When Christ becomes the treasure, priorities begin to realign. St Augustine famously wrote: “Our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” Every human search ultimately points toward that truth. Let us examine what we treasure most deeply. The heart always moves toward its treasure. May it find its rest in the Kingdom that neither fades nor passes away.
