Today, let us examine our relationship with God and our mission as his followers. The readings remind us of the value of authentic worship, sincere repentance, and the call to share the Good News. In the first reading, the prophet Hosea warns against the dangers of false worship. Israel sought security in idols and false gods. This led to the destruction of altars and high places revealing that only true worship of the living God can bring lasting peace and security. As we reflect on our own lives, let us examine whether there are things or people we have placed above God? Today’s
readings call us to return to God with genuine hearts. In the Gospel reading, Jesus grants his disciples authority over unclean spirits, demonstrating his power over evil. This authority strengthened their mission to heal and draw people closer to God. It reminds us that when we remain close to him, he equips us to serve and to share his love with others.
PRAYER: Abba Father, teach us to worship you with pure hearts. Guide us to proclaim your message of hope to those around us. Amen.
