Why does God allow weeds among the wheat? It is one of the oldest spiritual questions. Jesus answers with a parable rather than an explanation. The servants want immediate separation. God chooses patience. The Gospel reveals a divine characteristic often overlooked: God is never rushed. He sees the entire harvest while we see only the present field. The first reading teaches that true power is expressed through mercy. The second reading adds another layer: even when we cannot pray properly, the Spirit intercedes within us. The readings form a picture of extraordinary hope. God is patient with history. God is patient with the Church. God is patient with us. St Francis de Sales wrote: “Have patience with all things, but chiefly with yourself.” Many believers become discouraged because growth seems slow. Yet God works like a farmer, not a machine. Let us trust the process of grace. The Lord who planted the seed has not abandoned the field.
PRAYER: Abba Father, open my ears, teach me to listen. Amen.
