Whoever humbles himself will be exalted
  • Ezekiel 43:1-7
  • Psalm 85:9-14
  • Matthew 23:1-12

God’s glory entering the temple reminds us that his presence is meant to dwell among his people, not only in sacred places but also within ourselves. Yet many times our hearts become distracted by pride or selfishness. In the Gospel, Jesus warns against seeking honour, and praise while neglecting humility and service. Greatness in the Christian life is not measured by status, but by the willingness to serve others with love. Do we help others to be seen and appreciated, or do we serve quietly out of love for God? Humility can be practiced in simple ways: listening patiently, forgiving without seeking revenge, helping without expecting praise, and treating every person with dignity. When we stop trying to place ourselves above others, we make room for God’s presence to transform our hearts. The Blessed Mother is honoured as Queen because she lived in complete humility and obedience to God. Those who humble themselves before God are raised up by him.

PRAYER: Hail, holy queen, mother of mercy, turn your eyes of mercy toward us. Amen.
