They left everything and followed him
  • 1 Corinthians 3:18-23
  • Psalm 24:1-6
  • Luke 5:1-11

The Gospel presents one of the most memorable encounters between Jesus and Simon Peter. After a long and fruitless night of fishing, Peter is tired and discouraged. Yet at the Lord’s command, he casts the nets once more and witnesses an extraordinary catch. The miracle itself is remarkable, but even more significant is Peter’s response. Recognizing the power and holiness of Jesus, he becomes aware of his own unworthiness and falls at the Lord’s feet.St Paul reminds the Corinthians that true wisdom is found not in human achievement but in surrender to God’s plan. Peter discovers this truth firsthand. His experience, skill, and judgment had failed him, but obedience to Christ opened the way for abundant blessings. Though gifted with great ability and leadership, St Gregory placed his talents at the service of the Gospel. God accomplishes his work through those who trust him. The Lord continues to call ordinary people to become instruments of his grace.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may I leave my boats behind! Leave them on familiar shores! Set my heart upon the deep! Follow you again, my Lord.Amen.
