What is peace? Peace is not just the absence of conflict; it involves harmony and unity. In the First Reading, St. Paul urges the Thessalonians to live peacefully together, reminding them that this is a key aspect of a Christian life. Achieving peace means forgiving others and acting as peacemakers. St. Paul’s teachings remind us that peace is not just a personal matter but a community goal. When we live in peace, we reflect the love of Christ to the world. In the Gospel, the Lord Jesus warns against superficial faith by comparing the Pharisees to whitewashed tombs: outwardly impressive but inwardly corrupt. It is a call to examine our own lives. Are we more concerned with looking good in the eyes of others than with being true to God? It is easy to fall into the trap of doing things just to be seen as holy, but true faith comes from the heart. Let us grow in our love for Jesus and others, living out our beliefs with integrity.
PRAYER: Abba Father, help us to be peacemakers and may our lives inspire others to follow you. Amen.
