A house is tested not when the weather is pleasant, but when the storms arrive. Jesus presents the image of two builders. Both construct houses that may appear similar from the outside, yet only one survives because it is founded upon rock. The difference lies not in hearing the Lord’s words but in putting them into practice. Christian discipleship cannot remain at the level of good intentions or occasional inspiration. Faith becomes authentic when it shapes decisions, relationships, and daily conduct. St Paul reminds the Corinthians that believers cannot belong partly to Christ and partly to other allegiances. The Christian life requires integrity. Just as a strong foundation supports an entire building, fidelity to Christ gives stability to every aspect of life. Many people seek security in wealth, reputation, or personal achievement. These things may offer temporary confidence, but they cannot withstand trials. Only a life rooted in Christ possesses the strength to endure.
