Everywhere Jesus preached the Good News, the lives of those who believed were transformed. In the Gospel, Jesus uses the opportunity to teach about true discipleship when he is told that his family has come in search of him. This is the same call that you and I receive as true disciples. We live in a world that is often steeped in consumerism and power struggles, yet our calling is to be like him. The Blessed Mother’s words remain central: “Do whatever he tells you.” The first reading gives us words of wisdom that are invaluable in our walk with the Lord. The prophet Micah confirms what God expects of us: “Act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with your God.” The psalmist prays, “Guide me, Lord, in the way of your commands.” Pope Saint John Paul II offered a definitive spiritual roadmap. His vision enriched our contemplation of Christ’s life through the meditation on the Luminous Mysteries as he emphasised that the Rosary is an important and beautiful prayer.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may we be true disciples moved by the Holy Spirit. Amen.
