Today, as we celebrate the feast of St. Teresa, we are reminded that God has chosen each of us for a unique purpose. Today’s Word tells us that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. This is not something to fear or see as restrictive; it is a beautiful expression of His love and a call to live with purpose. God’s love for us did not begin on the day we decided to trust Him with our lives. St. Paul reminds us that God loved and chose us from the beginning, calling us to salvation through Jesus Christ. St. Teresa discovered this love through a deep life of prayer and intimate friendship with Christ. She understood that prayer is not merely saying many words to God but spending time with the One who loves us. How amazing it is to know that we are chosen and loved by God! Like St. Teresa, may we deepen our friendship with Christ through prayer and allow His love to transform our lives, so that we may faithfully fulfil the purpose for which He has chosen us.
