The passage from Ecclesiastes reflects on death as the inevitable end of every human life. Life is shown as a mixture of joy and sorrow, comfort and pain, each having its own time. Yet all human experiences are overshadowed by death, which gives an appearance of meaninglessness to the cycles of life. We are subject to times and changes beyond our control, and only one reality remains supreme: the all-knowing and all-loving God. Our lives are entirely in his hands, and the sooner we recognize this, the more peace we will find. While we can try to understand individual events, we cannot grasp the full plan of God. He has made everything suitable for its time and has placed eternity in our hearts, yet we cannot fully comprehend his work from beginning to end. This world is beautiful yet limited. Its joys are real but temporary, and they cannot fully satisfy us because we are made for eternity. We are pilgrims passing through, and our ultimate goal lies beyond this life in God alone.
PRAYER: Abba Father, walk with us on the journey of life. Amen.
