In the midst of his deepest agony, Job did not hide his despair and anguish but confidently declared his faith in his living Redeemer. His trust in God was so strong that he spoke of the resurrection of the body, even though Israel did not yet have a well-developed doctrine of resurrection. He believed that God’s justice would ultimately triumph. In the Gospel reading, the Lord Jesus reveals that His mission includes establishing a community of believers to continue His work after His departure. We, too, are called to follow in His footsteps by proclaiming the Kingdom of God in our surroundings. St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus reminds us that even the smallest acts, when offered with love and complete trust in God, can bear great fruit. Deep prayer and total dependence on the Lord Jesus will lead us forward. When we surrender ourselves to Him, His light and joy become tangible. Then, every challenge becomes insignificant.
PRAYER: Abba Father, we are grateful for choosing us for your mission in spite of our weaknesses. Amen.
