Today’s readings speak of the angelic battle against Satan and his agents in heaven and on earth. What the prophet Daniel foresaw is fulfilled by the Blood of the Lamb of God. He has brought victory over sin and Satan and now sits on the throne forever. Every nation and all the earth will serve and honour him, and his kingdom will never end. Let us imagine the day we will stand in his presence and take part in the unending praise and worship of all heavenly beings. But until then, we are called to claim the victory Jesus has already won for us over every sin, struggle, and temptation. Therefore, we need the intercession and assistance of the archangels to remain firm in the truth of the Gospel. We are God’s sons and daughters, sharing in the victorious life of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are called to stay connected to heaven through prayer, to live in communion with God each day, and to bring his light and power into the world.
