St. Paul reminds us that our strength comes from God. The challenges we face are not merely physical or emotional; they can also be spiritual. Therefore, we need God’s protection each day. The armour of God helps us stand firm when we encounter temptation, fear and discouragement. This calls us to rely on God through prayer and trust that He equips us with everything we need to remain faithful. When we put on God’s armour each day, we can face life’s battles with courage, peace and confidence. In the Gospel, Jesus responds to Herod’s threat with remarkable courage and determination. He refuses to be distracted from His mission, knowing that He must fulfil the work entrusted to Him by the Father. Despite rejection and opposition, Jesus remains faithful. His words, “How often I have desired to gather your children together…,” reveal God’s tender love and desire to protect and save us. May we never turn away from His loving invitation.
