Today, as we reflect on the life of St. Ignatius of Antioch, we are reminded of a man who placed Jesus at the centre of his life. He endured suffering for the sake of Christ, valued unity within the Church and firmly believed that it was better to live as a Christian than merely to be called one. His life challenges us to examine whether our faith is truly reflected in the way we live. In a world often influenced by values contrary to the Gospel, we need the guidance and strength of the Spirit to remain faithful to our calling. Jesus promises, “I will not leave you orphans; I will give you another Advocate to be with you.” When we do not know how to pray, the Holy Spirit comes to our aid. When we do not know which path to take, He gives us wisdom and understanding. If we begin each day conscious that we belong to Christ, we will not remain slaves to the values of this world. Like St. Ignatius, may we courageously live what we profess and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into the fullness of life.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may we be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
